Mia first Karaoke

Aunty Vinnie's celebrated her birthday at a Japanses Karaoke bar in Sydney City, Everyone had a great time including Mia who was well behaved but did get a bit tired. Here are pics.

Mia @ May birthday parties

Mia got invited to Connor's 2nd birthday party. Mummy J made him some cool car cupcakes tp go around Aunty Jacq's yummy carrot no. 2 cake. Here is Mia the pink mulch with handsome gardner Connor.

Mothers day

We had a nice mothers's day - Mia and Daddy took Mother and God mother for dumplings at the new Shanghai joint in Chatswood. Mummy got 2 new cook books - here is what was made out of them.

Mia's first 2 teeth

Mia got her first 2 bottom teeeth. Oma discovered it - Mummy was oblivious to any new teeth and didn't realy notice any odd behaviour. Never the less - she is happy to see Mia is prgressing and seems to have a healthy appetite. She's begun to eat jook, tofu and fish - she sure loves to eat just like Mummy and Daddy.

Hunter Valley visit

We decided to take a short trip to Hunter Valley -
we stocked up on our vino which was yummm!
and got some golf and day spa fixes.

Mia first crawl @ Oma Ritas @ 8 mths old

Mia did her first crawl at 8 Mths - the beginning stages @ Oma Rita's house.




Mia also received Miffy and clogs from Tante Son and Oom Gid.
Here she is in her knee -hi's and Miffy which she adores.

Easter Break in Noosa & sitting up

We have a lovely week up the Sunshine Coast with the Chan side of
the family, Mia loved spending time with her cousins and Goo-goo and the rest of the family. We booked a gorgeous house in Perugian beach fited out with a dream kitchen. Here are some pics.

Mia with cousin Sophie - she adored her new little cousin and wanted to keep her on Brissy bless her soul - Sophie is so cute we love our lil' god daughter so much.

During her stay her, Mia also started to sit up - Goo-goo taught her how to place her feet so she could sit up. Well done little Mi!



Back in Brisbane we also caught up with old friends.

Mia's Baptism

Mia's Baptism went smoothly with a lovely ceremony at Holy Name Catholic Parish in Wahroonga. Fr Clem ran through the proceedings, officiating God Mother Amelia & God Father Damien. She wore the Chan family Baptismal gown that Grandma Chan(Mama - in Chinese) got from Ireland a few moons ago where all Chan grandkids have worn. Both sets of Grandparets came down for the occasion. As usual Oma Rita whipped up a few goodies, I also made my spiral puffs and decorated a cake for the occassion with some cupcakes on the side. We had a wonderful feast as usual, and all our friends worked hard in the kitchen helping us out for the home do. Loads of food together with the yummy suckling pig we ordered for the day. Absolutely delisio!! Here are some pics..

Roll over milestone & Mia's 6 mth immunization - Dr Sandy Gray

Mia at 6 mths has been able to roll over multiple times, she seemed to do the occassional roll at 5 mths, but in March she has become quite the little adventurer rolling from one side of the mat to the other getting herself all tangled up in the playgym ...what a sight!

Mia had her 6 mth immunisation which went the usual way, 30 secs of bawling and hen it was all smiles again. Young MIA , here is a picture of your Dr Sandra Gray so you can look back at this to see how kind and warm she is.

First update - winter is truely here. Here is Mia in one of the crochet hats I made..she does't mind hats now. Candy striper hat .

February updates

We did a visit to the National Gallery of Australia to see the Masterpieces of Paris exhibition. Overall quite good, they even had a Van Gogh Kids room where they had all sorts of kid participation art activities. Mia seemed a little mesmerised , who knows..she may be a budding artist like Tante Son and Great Grandma Pang....



Mia also started Solids this mth which is a great milestone , also commenced rolling at 5.5 mths old so that is all good news.


We went to the supermarket for the firt time too this mth,
she was once again fairly excited getting into the trolley
looking at all the packages on the shelves grabbing my shopping
list and wanting to touch anything I picked up. No crying or tantrums yet!!







We said farwell to Uncle George! good old IBM friend who has gone to Indonesia to be with his gorgeous family....one day Mia will meet her little friends (Uncle George's sons - Joziah,Caleb and Gabriel).













O yes..Mia's first visit to Ryu , best Ramen in town..one of our
favorite Jap ramen spots in Sydney..











Here's another shot showcasing the full mop of hair Madame Mia has seemed to have grown..everyone keeps commenting how she looks like a little doll!
She sure is a little live doll thats for sure!
Pity we can't switch her off when shes crying for food!!!

Meeting Oscar Lee

On our way back from Melb, good old friend Julie Lee (formely Hucket) from high school
came into town for a visit. She bought young Oscar who was 8 mths old, a real sweetie. Here is Mia and Oscar meeting for the first time, Mia can look back on this and see how cute and adorable her little friend was...

Melbourne Visit

A last minute trip to Melbourne before Paul heads back for work,
this meant eating shopping and more eating- so entailing Mia's first Melbourne trip. She was a well behaved accessory to all eating establishments at Bistro Vue, Movida and Nobu...all great restaurants with divine food! We also caught up with Tante Tirza who shouted a wonderful meal at Nobu.....Thanks Tante T (you spoil us!!)



Also she feasted her eyes on some delicious mini-cupcakes green tea flavoured and red velvet tasters! Mini Mia with Mini cupcakes! Yum again...






Melb has the best coffee houses-Brother Baba Budan, a nice hole in the wall that sold seven seeds coffee which is probably one of the best coffees Ive ever had!!
The place was lined with chairs on the ceiling..funky Melbourne for ya...

Balmoral Beach

Last Saturday we spent the day at Balmoral Beach with Kai-yeh, Aunty Jenn & Jac, Uncle Brett and Connor. Had agreat time - Ba-pah Chan took some nice photos of Mia that deserve a posting on the blog. Here it is...More photos can be found at this link..

Oma Rita - itchy fingers..presto..a new outfit

Thought Oma Rita's itchy fingers deserved a blog update...as a result a new outfit with matching hat and bloomers....2 shots afixed here....
Paul said she looks like a little caterpillar..but Im blind and think she looks adorable..

Mia gets her ears pierced

Today Mia was a good little girl who braved her way into the world of jewelled ears .. She was unaware until the 2 girls got the earguns and punctured the holes at the same time in each ear...one loud "WAHHHHHHH" for about 1 minute with tears , then she seem to calm down and forgot about the whole ordeal. Oma Rita could not bear to watch and had to escape the shop for a good 10 minutes before returning. Here is the pictures before , and during and after.

New Years Eve 2009

We spent New Years Eve at Point Piper
at Jeffrey and Vinny's apartment with a killer view.





Mia was well behaved and enjoyed a viewing in gold class seats at the local cinema courtesy of the local wall projector..watching PIXAR pictures "UP"....all the kids seem to love it...









She pretty much slept through the midnight fireworks..
We still managed to have a great first New Yrs with Mia
with little complaints from the lil' munchkin , not having to be in bed by 9 pm for the adults was also a luxury few parents get to have....Thanks Oma and Opa Sulu for allowing Mummy J and Papa P catch up on sleep...
